Katy Rose de Leon

Cyclotron Road Lab Manager

Katy Rose is a collaborative and results-driven professional with over a decade of experience supporting a variety of laboratory ecosystems. 

After working in the environmental sector she began her laboratory journey as a Lab Assistant in a Histopathology Lab. Demonstrating an aptitude for strategic thinking and organizational efficiency, she pivoted to Laboratory Operations. While pursuing her Master’s degree, she joined PerkinElmer, leveraging her skills to ascend to leadership positions. During her tenure, she managed laboratory asset programs for R&D and MFG clients in South San Francisco’s biotech hub, including Merck and Altria Group. More recently, Katy directed lab operations for DNA extraction and sequencing at a San Francisco-based genetic diagnostic firm. Her dedication to supporting the advancement of scientific knowledge and fostering collaborative research bolsters her passion for supporting the Cyclotron Rd. fellows.

Outside the laboratory, Katy enjoys hiking and jogging, indulging in culinary pursuits through cooking and baking, and cherishes quality moments spent with her loved ones.
