At Berkeley Lab, we empower innovators to turn their breakthroughs into real-world impact. We provide entrepreneurial scientists and technologists with the resources, mentorship, and connections needed to scale their innovations and bring them to market. Here are some programs that we offer.

Our program empowers entrepreneurial scientists to take their innovation to impact by offering knowledge, resources, and connections. Cyclotron Road is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Lab-Embedded Entrepreneurship Program (LEEP) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab), which partners with Activate to provide a world-class fellowship.

At Cradle to Commerce, we curate the most compelling energy innovations from four national labs. We connect inventors and entrepreneurs with these curated technologies and critical resources such as state-of-the-art test beds, prototyping facilities, and scientific expertise to advance their solutions toward commercialization.

Energy I-Corps is a key initiative of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Technology Transitions (OTT), which sends teams of researchers and industry mentors through an immersive two-month training where the researchers define technology value propositions, conduct stakeholder discovery interviews, and develop viable market pathways for their technologies.
